Streamlining Communications to Enhance Collaboration
Capgemini acts as both a strategic advisor and lead delivery partner, providing cutting-edge UCC solutions to clients in a variety of sectors. Our customers benefit from a unique blend of big-picture thinking, innovation, capabilities, partnerships and experience.
We transformed how the Ministry of Defence (MOD) manages applications including HR systems. Managers saw an opportunity to achieve significant savings by automating expense claims and over 20 other routine HR processes and turning them into self-service functions.
Capgemini worked with the MOD, Microsoft and a number of other partners and suppliers to deliver an operational Internet Access to Shared Service IASS solution. This allows secure access to HR systems from any Internet-connected PC. The self-service HR system is expected to save taxpayers millions of pounds over the next decade.
Bringing Communications Up to Date
UCC aims to maximize the business value of every relationship, be it with employees, partners or customers. This is achieved by integrating communications systems across the organization and using the power of technology to break down barriers between content formats, devices and people working toward common objectives.
UCC brings applications like instant messaging, desktop video and social networking into the enterprise to enhance interactions, facilitate team-building, automate processes and more. These tools and applications enable companies to:
- Reduce costs through process improvements
- Penetrate new, high-growth markets
- Collaborate closely with other organizations and consumers
- Operate beyond the traditional boundaries of IT
- Successfully integrate sophisticated machine-to-machine technologies for data transfer and automation
Capgemini’s Approach to Unified Communications
When looking to optimize an enterprise’s unified communications strategy, Capgemini focuses on 6 key stages of analysis and design:
- Requirements analysis: identifying how an organization’s employees work and how they could improve efficiency
- Process identification: locating individual or industry-based process issues
- Expense bleeds: selecting the specific areas where communications are leading to waste
- Critical worker identification and roles review: pinpointing staff who are most critical, or whose contact is most important
- Stakeholder involvement: targeting the business units that need the most aid and ensuring that the organization’s strategic thinkers are informing the process
- Mapping the benefits: designing solutions that deliver the most critical functionality
