The technology wave of ‘IT’, the combination of PC and Networks has reached it’s zenith in terms of business impact, increasingly it is difficult to find projects that offer substantial returns, instead it is about ‘sweating the existing assets’. However in all of this the ‘timing’ is always under the control of the enterprise. When to invest? When to change? What to record? How to use information? Answers to these questions are all internal matters. Above all the role that IT plays throughout the applications is to record the data on what has happened, so that the historic past might provide some clues to the dynamic future.
